HI, I'M MAGAN
I know what it's like to be the one carrying the money stress.
For a long time, I was the one handling the money in our house. I paid the bills, kept up with what was due, and tried to make sure there was enough left for groceries, gas, and everything else.
I thought I was budgeting.
But really, I was making a list of bills, estimating what we needed, and hoping the rest worked itself out.
When it didn't, I carried the stress. I worried about the numbers. Money became something we argued about instead of something we handled together.
The problem wasn't that I needed to try harder. I needed a plan I could actually work.
SO WHAT CHANGED?
I stopped guessing and started looking at what our money was actually doing.
It wasn't one magical budget or some complicated money system. I started paying attention to our real numbers and making decisions based on the life we were actually living.
I started tracking instead of assuming.
I needed to know where our money was actually going — not where I thought it was going.
Once I could see the real numbers, I could finally make decisions instead of constantly wondering what happened to the money.
I started making a plan for our real life.
Our budget didn't need to be perfect. It needed to include the things we actually spent money on and change when our life changed.
Little by little, money stopped feeling like something that was always happening to us.
Eventually, we went from wondering where the money went to knowing what we wanted it to do. And that changed everything.
THAT EXPERIENCE CHANGED THE WAY I TEACH MONEY
I don't believe budgeting should make you feel worse about your money.
I teach budgeting the way I wish someone had taught me: with real numbers, room for real life, and a plan you know how to adjust when things change.
No shame.
Looking at your numbers is information, not a character test. We can't change what happened yesterday, but we can decide what happens next.
No fake-perfect budget.
Your plan should include the life you actually live — groceries, fun, kids, surprises, and all.
Tracking matters.
You can't make good decisions from guesses. Seeing what your money is actually doing gives you something real to work with.
You stay in the driver's seat.
My job isn't to run your money for you. It's to help you learn how to make decisions you trust and work the plan yourself.
The goal isn't to become perfect with money. It's to feel like you finally know what you're doing with it.
